Mission for Seniors
Our Mission for Seniors programme is a free home-visiting, support and advocacy service for elderly people living at home who have health and disability and/or social isolation issues in the Titahi Bay, Porirua, Wellington, Hutt Valley and surrounding suburbs.
This programme offers the following service for clients:
- A home-visiting service to provide support and regular checks to ensure seniors can remain safely at home alone and through changes in lifestyle.
- Advocacy to facilitate income support, health care and other social services.
- Companionship and a listening ear.
- Assistance to access health services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, doctor, dentist or outpatients.
- Resource Information including medical and smoke alarms, enduring power of attorney, disability and Work & Income forms.
- Transport and mobility assistance to get to appointments.
- Help to organise managing finances.
- Hospital visiting.
- Support for caregivers.
- Works collaboratively with others and does not duplicate existing social services.

The elderly we help are those who -
- Are finding it harder to remain in their home.
- Are isolated, lonely and have lost confidence.
- Have concerns regarding their home and finances.
- Feel unwell at times.
- Have trouble getting around and out and about.
