Mission for Seniors

Our Mission for Seniors programme is a free home-visiting, support and advocacy service for elderly people living at home who have health and disability and/or social isolation issues in the Titahi Bay, Porirua, Wellington, Hutt Valley and surrounding suburbs.

This programme offers the following service for clients:

  • A home-visiting service to provide support and regular checks to ensure seniors can remain safely at home alone and through changes in lifestyle.
  • Advocacy to facilitate income support, health care and other social services.
  • Companionship and a listening ear.
  • Assistance to access health services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, doctor, dentist or outpatients.
  • Resource Information including medical and smoke alarms, enduring power of attorney, disability and Work & Income forms.
  • Transport and mobility assistance to get to appointments.
  • Help to organise managing finances.
  • Hospital visiting.
  • Support for caregivers.
  • Works collaboratively with others and does not duplicate existing social services.
